Your Sunday Trends Chronicle: 1st October
Navigating the Currents of Fashion, Music, and Culture Every Sunday
Good morning and happy Sunday!
Welcome to the first edition of Week In Trend - The Sunday Newspaper, where I'm about to take you on a thrilling ride through the latest trends, and maybe even provide you with a soundtrack for your Sunday morning, courtesy of Maroon 5.
MFW: Milan Strikes Back
Can we get a drumroll for Milan? Perhaps I'm biased, being a Milanese or after experiencing a week filled with excitement, with too many events on and off the official fashion calendar. One thing's for sure, industry insiders would love an extra day to fully enjoy all the new and iconic brands presenting in the fashion capital. With emerging talents breathing new life into heritage brands, and fresh labels reaching significant milestones, Milan has stormed back into the spotlight, giving Paris, London and NYC a run for their money.
Milan Fashion Week has also unveiled what seems to be the number one trend for SS24: sheer fabric! Plus, the '90s are making a strong comeback, along with the resurgence of peplum and capri trousers. These retro styles are set to dominate the fashion scene in the upcoming season.
And before you ask, Sabato De Sarno's Gucci debut? Love it! It’s before Alessandro, classic, simple, and elegant with some sparkling twists.
Brands to Keep an Eye On: Directly from the Milan Catwalk
Let's spill the fashion tea. Here are some brands you need to keep an eye on:
Andreādamo: Simple colours from nude to black, suitable from morning to evening, rich in sensuality and feminine power. The designer has made everyone happy.
Des Phemmes: Delicate pieces for strong women who like to party!
Fiorucci: Never out of style, the brand has returned home with its signature colourful clothes.
The Attico: Everyone knows them, but the first runway show of the It girls Giorgia and Gilda was better than we could have imagined. Location and invitation included. I want everything in my wardrobe right now!
Del Core: The perfect mix of colors and styles for the spring/summer collection, confirming that the color of ‘23/’24 is red!
TikTok #tubegirl: Sabrina Bahsoon and Confidence Unleashed
Tube Girl, aka Sabrina Bahsoon, broke the internet with a new TikTok trend where owning who you are and 0.5X zoom are the main characters.
Top-notch marketers quickly got her on board for campaigns, and now she's the hottest guest at fashion weeks, from Boss to Balmain.
Song of the Week: "Cross My Heart" by Artemas
Need some new music to add to your playlist? Dive into "Cross My Heart" by Artemas, the song that's making hearts flutter and feet tap across the globe, or at least somewhere in Milan. I discovered it thanks to my FYP, which knows me better than anyone else, and everyone thought it was Drake’s new song... a very effective marketing campaign.
It's hard to choose between Artemas and Sabrina in terms of marketing savvy.
Object of Desire: Apple AirPods Max
Ever wanted to disappear into your own world? Apple AirPods Max can do just that. I tried them for the first time this Tuesday... no need to say that I'm looking for the best deal before Christmas.
There you have it, your very first edition of Week In Trend, jam-packed with the latest buzz and style. Let me know if there is a specific topic you would like to dive into more deeply.
Thanks for sharing your Sunday morning with me! I'm looking forward to keeping you in the style loop. Subscribe for more exciting updates!
Wishing you a trend-setting Sunday and beyond!
